Palm Springs Karate Academy was established in 1988 under Sensei Guy Holtzman, an 8th Dan in the traditional Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu Koeppel-Ha style of Karate. Sensei Holtzman has worked hard over the last 30 years to establish himself as a valued member of the local community through programs that enrich not only the mind and body, but also the spirit. SENSEI HOLTZMAN
Mr. Holtzman began training in 1975 in Waterloo, Iowa under Mr. John Hutchcroft. He is recognized by the United State Karate Association (USKA) in their Hall of Fame and the United State Karate Do Kai (USKK)in their International Bushido Society. Awarded Chief Instructor in 1995 under Nubuichi Oyakawa.
Mr. Holtzman began his training in Shuri Ryu until 1984 when he began training in Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu Koeppel Ha. He is an active 8th Dan is Seito. Sensei Holtzman also began training with Nubuichi Oyakawa in Fei He Quan in 1989 to expand his training and development. He also trained Shihequan from Liu Chang I.
Palm Springs Karate was opened in 1988 in Palm Springs and has continuously been the standard of Traditional Karate in California.
Mr. Holtzman is the Regional and State Representative of the USKA and
the USKK.
He does not like to talk about his achievements, but to understand the level in which he trains it is good to see what he has accomplished.
